A Southern Baptist church holding to the June 2000 Baptist Faith & Message and the 1689 Confession
The five "sola's" from the Reformation guide our ministry:
Sola Scriptura (Scripture Alone) - our ultimate authority
Sola Gratia (Grace Alone) - salvation is entirely by God's grace and not by any merit from us
Sola Fide (Faith Alone) - we are justified by faith alone and not by works added to faith
Solus Christus (Christ Alone) - He alone provided for our righteous standing before God
Soli Deo Gloria (To God Alone be the Glory) - His glory alone is the purpose of all things

Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
Formerly the Albuquerque Baptist Temple, we reorganized on May 17, 2000, as the Albuquerque Sovereign Grace Baptist Church. This better reflects our emphasis on the monergistic work of God in the salvation of sinners.
What is your primary product or service?
Our primary goal is to glorify God by fulfilling the Great Commission in our South Valley location.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
To the best of our knowledge, we are the only Southern Baptist church in Albuquerque that publicly holds to all five points of Calvinism.
1) Total Depravity: there is no part of human nature that is not marred by sin. 2) Unconditional Election: God chose all those for salvation based only on His free will apart from any works on our part. 3) Limited Atonement: the work of Jesus Christ in his life, death and resurrection is only for those who are to be saved. 4) Irresistible Grace. The call of God for salvation cannot be denied by man. 5) Perseverance of the Saints. God keeps all those who are saved no matter their trials and tribulations.
We use the New King James version of the Bible in our readings from the Old and New Testaments and our preaching. We sing Psalms from the Psalter and from hymn books accompanied by a pianist.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Our hope is to expand our ministry to the Spanish-speaking community around us.
What are your hours of operation?
Sunday school goes from 10:00 to 10:45. The worship service begins at 11:00. Sunday evening study is from 6:00 to 7:00. Wednesday night study is from 7:00 to 8:00.
What is your favorite quote or Bible verse?
Our guiding verse is from the end of the prayer made by Jonah from the belly of the great fish: "Salvation is of the LORD" (Jonah 2:9b).
