Long-term / short-term housing, food, life skills, & counseling for youth 13-22
Thousands of youth are lost inside of our own community with no support system to give them direction. Many have been abandoned by their families; some have run away due to neglect and abuse; while others engage in a life of substance abuse and crime. New Day helps provide a map that leads to a different life. When they enter New Day, we meet their unique and individual needs. If they are homeless, we provide food and shelter. If they are emotionally unable to stay in school, we provide counseling. If they don’t know any other coping strategies besides crime and drugs, we provide real options. Whatever their needs are they receive a new chance for a better future.
We provide long-term and short-term housing, food, life skills, clinical counseling, and detention alternatives to some of the most vulnerable young people in Albuquerque. We work with youth ages 11-22 using a strength-based approach which allows us to not only provide services, but to also encourage and recognize the inherent value of every youth. Our successes include helping youth transition from homelessness to stable housing, assisting youth in completing their high school education, and teaching youth practical life skills to prepare them for adulthood. Our many programs are made possible by the support of individuals and organizations who believe that all youth deserve a chance at a bright and healthy future beyond homelessness.
